As the author said in his preview “strap yourself in the jump seat” and let Scot Gibson (the main person in this book ) fly you around the world.  And that is what this book is all about. You fly with Scot during his active career as a pilot in so many different planes and different disciplines that it also a book for non aviators who are interested in the aviation world.

A great book is this from Melody Foreman, which takes you into the life from Terry Parsons who spent a great part of his life at digging up remains from planes that have crashed during the Battle of Britain (10 July – 31 October 1940) and The Blitz (7 September 1940 – 11 May 1941)

I already own several of these “Images of War” books and what is nice about the series as a whole is the format; slightly smaller than A4, aromatic paper, and easily digestible information in bite-sized chunks. This book – as the name implies – concerns aircraft carriers. It details in four chapters the development of […]

So, a very beautiful book this on the South Pacific Air War! It tells about a bit of war history which we know little about in the Western world (to my opinion). Nevertheless, it is my first book about being in war in those areas, specifically the surroundings of Moresby. Publisher Avonmore Books has with […]

Michael Napier began his carrier at the RAF in 1978 and left 13 years later as Flight Commander. The author has conscientious collected in this book all weapon facts from the 14th squadron of the RAF in the 1945-2015 period. Who else can do this better than Michael Napier, who himself has served a long time at this squadron and has written a beautiful book about that time (Tornado above Tigris). This book […]

Since the television series Ice Pilots, NWT debuted in 2008, thousands of devoted fans have tuned in weekly to watch the Buffalo Airways team keep vintage aircraft like Douglas DC-3 Dakotas, DC-4s, and Curtiss C-46 Commandos flying in Canada’s North. Viewers are equally riveted by the show’s “characters”: the McBryan family, headed by no-nonsense “Buffalo” […]
