I already had almost the entire series om my bookshelf, but it turns out I didn’t have this book yet! 200 pages of airplane humor from 1982 and 1989. Yes, you read that right; 1982 and 1989! This book – which is now a combination of the books Say Again from 1982 and Say no more from 1989 – laid the foundation for much more humor from Martin Leeuwis and Ton van Andel. Both ex-Dutch Airforce for which Leeuwis was a NF-5 pilot and Van Andel an Avionics Officer. Ton van Andel made the drawings and Leeuwis the texts. Ton van Andel unfortunately passed away in 2017. Martin Leeuwis is simply unstoppable as a publisher! Now already more than 30 books and the focus is humor!

The original book ‘Say Again’ was first available in a slightly larger size: 18x25cm, and it took until the 10th edition in 2006 before the size was reduced to A5. A big improvement is that the 2nd part ‘Say no more’ was also included in the same book. It became a 200-page book containing all the cartoons and texts from both books.

‘Say again and more’ includes a large number of cartoons about the F16 and the purchasing process leading up to the introduction of the F-16 in the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNAF). The F-16 entered service with the RNAF in 1979, so it was not surprising that it was already published in 1982. The purchase of the F-16 is explained in an 8-page comic and all kinds of features are shown. After 45 years the F-16 was retired here in the Netherlands in September 2024

But, there are also other cartoons in the book. Most are military related, but civilian cartoons are also widely available. Some cartoons provide some substantive background and that is useful. Other than that it’s just humor and fun. From very dry to juicy humor and everything in between. Everything hard copy in A5 format so that it easily fits on your bookshelf or in your bag for the train or whatever.

How much more to come?! Go on, go on and say that again!
