This e-book that I bought for $ 0,99 ( a bargain) contains 168 pages with facts about commercial aviation. It shows only one drawing explaining how gravity and lift makes a plane fly. On each page there is a short story or an event experienced by a crew member and there are also simple technical explanations about aviation that every airline passenger would like to know.
The stories are sometimes funny, sometimes frightening and sometime it gives you a good view of what is happening behind the curtains of aviation. The author Matt Johnson worked quite some time as member of an airline cabin crew so he knows where he is talking about. Some inside facts, certainly about the cabin routine, were new for me also, but most facts are well known by the average and experienced air traveler but still it is comfortable reading. Per example the explanation about the use of the transponder as part of the cockpit equipment and the use of squawks in case of an emergency is interesting reading. It contains also a list of the most busiest airports of the world.
This book is especially recommended for people that make their first trip on board of an airliner and who want to know more about the course of events on board then just the special offers of the tax free collection. It is about an hour of reading time but very nice to have it with you on your e-reader during a flight.
The price of the book makes it accessible for everybody and besides part of the revenues are given to UNICEF. Book Publisher is Smashwords ebooks, via https://www.smashwords.com.
