From the warplanes of the Somme in France in WW1, we this time go to a volume with 9 stories which occured a bit later in the last century. The book is written by Jan Breman who has flown his whole life. He did it in many planes, and with this book he wants us to feel how beautiful flying was and still is. In the 9 stories Jan Breman writes about various aircraft types like the Piper, Cessna, the Auster, Boeing 747 and Tiger Moth. The stories play at several continents.
The ‘liars’ in the title of this book refers to us pilots who exaggerate and romanticize about our flying. Imagine the stories at the bar of the flightclub after a beautiful day of flying. The way Jan Breman is “Lying” is his book is of course approved and that makes it fun to read these stories. The book radiates the passion of someone who

incorporates flying into the DNA of all his body cells. Jan Breman writes the way I sometimes think if I am going to fly. He is a writer who writes from his feelings. He sees and writes about things as I percieve them also.

Personally, I think Mr Breman sometimes writes a bit to detaillistic about all aspects of flying, aircraft parts and extensive thoughts. This makes the book sometimes difficult to read through. I droped out a few times.

For the reader who seeks the love to flying, this book is very recommendable. Lots of passion but where is the pepper?! Three thumbs up!
