This photobook with in total 245 pages contains 229 pages with photographs of the historical backbone of the RAF that entered service in 1981 and at tornado1this very moment is still flying in one remaining squadron, namely the Panavia Tornado. The Tornado was also operated in different executions by the German, Italian and Saudi Arabic air forces. It resulted in a beautiful photo book with a hard cover and with a  high quality photo paper.

Besides the magnificent color photographs it contains also a comprehensive technical description of the several executions including a detailed exploded view drawing. In a separate chapter the author is listing all the different international operations executed by the different air forces that were working with the Tornado. In short the lover and interested reader of the Tornado history gets all the information he wants.

tornado-4The photos, mainly shot by the author, are beautiful and of a very high quality and also very various. Photo shots in different plane executions and paintings and in a big variety of all possible locations in the world. On many photographs we see the Tornado flying at low level above the hilly landscape of Northern England and Scotland and also during international exercises and in squadron operations.

Under every photograph there is a description with which camera and camera setting the shot was made and also the location and circumstances. In my view a photo collection for the real lover of aerial photography that deserves a prominent place in the bookcase or on the coffee table.
